"Dusky" the Dog at Celestial Resort, UBIN

This dog belongs to Celestial Resort. He is one cute dog!

My friend was walking on the beach early dusk hours, it was watching from far wondering what this chap is doing alone near the rocky beach. He looks concern staring the back of my friend's shadow from a distance. Finally he decided to tail along and I can see him running towards the back of my friend like following him closely to make sure he was fine.  Then it reminds me of the movie HACHI the dog ...

Here is well... I gave him a name Dusky

Dogs are always like a good friend, no matter how you scold them, ignore them or treat them badly, they alway remain behind your back ... They are your best of friends then your own human friends! So let's care and take care of them like they took care of us!

Abandoned Huts in UBIN

Found remains of old kampong huts left behind by the descendants of UBIN. I imagined how it could have been like living in the middle of the wild.. a simple and peaceful lifestyle. Of course comparable to us in the city not all resources are available to them but I am sure there instill some kind of happiness which made them stayed over the last decade.  Would I like to try staying in these huts now and feel how it was like? Hmmm.... I am not confident to answer myself that.

When I stumbled on this hut, it reminds me of one of those haunted kampong stories.
Does this remind you of a haunted hut?

Another abandoned hut, you can still see some leftover stuff in it.
Have the folks gone to the city to live with their children...?
Are they still alive or have they actually passed away also with time...

Chek Jawa at UBIN

Surprising in UBIN, I also discovered in Chek Jawa there are mangrove here is little different from Sungei Buloh but I enjoyed myself here more because I guessed the mangrove here have lesser mosquitoes. I was told the difference is the mangrove water here are not still because of the  sea water  flowing in and out where is difficult for mosquitoes to breed.  Anyway... here are some pics of what we managed to snap.
Mangroves in  Chek Jawa

Have you seen a mudskipper? This is a biggest one I seen....

Aren't they cute.  I always enjoy watching mudskippers...
These are babies mudskippers. So cute...

This teenage mudskipper is resting further away from the mangrove nearer to the seawater...

Tiny Crabs on the rocks ...

Yes, a huge beautiful spider resting on it's web .....

You can enjoy listening to the peace & the different kinds of birds singing their hearts out..

We're so lucky to spot a ... Woody Woodpecker... this is first time I seen one
