Just celebrated a Prosperous Year & a Roaring Year of the Tiger! Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Planned and supposed to leave for a week of retreat work in Siem Reap and a week for holiday in Ululu but realized partner passport is less then 6 months!!! Well that's how we stay put in Singapore.
So spent the lunar 1st day doing some traditional CNY visits to the elderly and few friends. And decided why not get out somewhere to chill out away from the busy city life. We were contemplating if to have a farm stay at Kranji or perhaps Pulau Ubin an island 10 mins ferry ride.
So we decided it is UBIN! The government has begun developing Pulau Ubin a bit so most of the villagers have already moved out to the city. I guess less then 45 families are left in this island. They also converted the chalets to a resort hotel called Celestial Resort.
So we booked 2 nights stay at Celestial Resort (http://www.celestialresort.com/boatservices.html), a very basic accommodation with aircon, a bed, a mini fridge, a small desk and a small table and of course a bathroom.
It turned out to be a good trip because I have not seen Pulau Ubin in my whole life in Singapore, so guess it is time to explore before the island is commercialized!
